this?
because i still want to have waterfalls running off everywhere
like i dont wanna see water pool down
ah, at last i managed to take a sc
so the cloud is a 1x1 ground deletion tile
the next one is i think 9x9
and the funnel is a cloud with a negative source
that's the easy part
yes but does it delete liquid, the first 2
the first 2 no
and also when i use the second it just crashes instantly
oh
yes thats the problem i want that
but im not sure how well the games gonna run
as i have a potato laptop
i'm not sure it will like it
i think it's best to see where the waterfalls will be, and put sinkholes tiles around there
😭
ill continue later, i dont feel like wating 10 mins for the game to load again
of course you can put more if you expect the player to rearrange things a bit
i understand that but maybe not
you can put a bunch, but everywhere is probably not a good idea
yeah ill figure something out later
just in case the important thing with waterfalls is that if you have a strong negative watersource immediately under it, it will delete the waterfall entirely
which is why i opted to make weaker sinkholes
but if you feel it's really impractical, i'll make some other presets
also i probably can make it a rectangle tool
i think that would be great yes
if you find bugs, just tell me, no need to bash your head at this mod too much 😅
well using the big cloud tool crashes if i swipe it
but if i place them one by one its fine i i wait a bit
so i think thats to the laptop
Got a Comment and copied it here. supposed to help reset all watersources to certain value (may help here) have not tested. would need to change value of new sources instead 1 - Browse local maps and locate your map as [MapName].timber (turn "Show File Extensions" to on in file explorer or equivalent)
2 - Rename file to [MapName].zip
3 - Extract all files from the zip file
4 - open world.json in any text editor
5 - replace text (ctrl-H in most Windows editors):
"WaterSource":{"SpecifiedStrength":1.0,"CurrentStrength":1.0
with:
"WaterSource":{"SpecifiedStrength":0,"CurrentStrength":0
6 - save the file
7 - select all 4 files that were extracted from the zip file and then compress to zip file (right click for this option in Windows)
8 - rename the Zip file to [MapName].timber and place it in the maps directory it was originally in, overwriting the original
9 - ????
10 - Profit!
wait whats that gonna do
editing the map file and setting all watersources to a certain value like -6. if these are like negative sources, instead of watersource you could look for them and change all of them at once. never tried editing files though and sure is complicated. but this is a step by step guide. try at own risk
dont know if its a problem when they dont have to absorb (are they still working in background?) this is uncharted territory
That's not the laptop, it's a oopsie from my part that causes the game to crash 😓
the ability to drag a line or square with an object that is more than 1x1 does that.
👍
I would assume they do, but can't be sure. Unless someone is willing to try.
You are probably right. Will give results if I feel dumb enough to try on weekend. One way to build a lag machine probably
Floating Crystals! Hooray!
Ah, specifically a bit more on this : generally I except the current flow to be 1cms (default value for one source) which means a 1cms water source (no shit Sherlock), but since we can't have it be entirely absorbed by the block under it, it's better to split it in five (the tile under the waterfall plus the four surrounding it) so that makes sinkholes have to be -0.2 water sources. And in order to have a little bit more margin I made it -0.3
This way you can carpet the general waterfall area with sinkholes and still have something that looks fine even if the player does some rearranging.
Of course you need to adjust to your setup: if your water flow is six but falls through three adjacent waterfalls, you only have 3+8 sinkholes to absorb it all (keeping in mind the 2.2 CMS waterfall limit) in which case you probably would need a carpet off -0.5 to -0.75 sinkholes.
The Map Editor Mod on mod.io should have the texture pack listed as a dep too (currently not listed)
Also the name in the manifest.json is still MorePlants ! MapEditor 🙂
Also I made a crash by randomly clicking with sky tiles (first 1x1, then 9x9)
oh, right, the 9x9 tiles
added ! thanks !
small update !
