#Integrate Adrenaline Modpack Optimizations into Lunar Client

Description:

Adrenaline is a well known performance focused modpack on Modrinth that combines the absolute best optimization mods available for Fabric, including Sodium, Lithium, and many more. It focuses purely on improving rendering performance, game logic performance, and memory usage without changing any vanilla gameplay or visuals. No bloat, no quality of life mods, just pure optimization.

I think Lunar Client should look at integrating the mods included in Adrenaline as part of its base performance stack. Lunar is already marketed as a performance optimized client but a lot of players are still running into stutters and not so optimized experience that Adrenaline directly addresses. The modpack is fully open source, actively maintained.

This would be especially impactful for players on lower end hardware who chose Lunar specifically for better performance and are not getting the results they expected.

This modpack is available on Modrinth and GitHub, made by skywardmc under the project name Adrenaline.

# wet prawn you can already use modpacks like this with lunar if you search for it in the mo...

The suggestion is not about bundling Adrenaline itself into Lunar.
it is about using it as a reference to see what optimizations Lunar might be missing or could improve on. Adrenaline has been tested and proven to get significantly better performance out of Minecraft and if there are techniques or mods in there that Lunar is not already using then it is worth looking into. And yes Lunar has some Fabric mods built in already but that does not mean there is no room for improvement. A lot of players who switched to Lunar specifically for performance are still reporting stutters and memory issues so clearly what is currently included is not enough for everyone.

# wet prawn the reason why lunar only has a few fabric mods by default is so users can choos...

The suggestion is not about bundling random Fabric mods, it is about Lunar implementing these optimizations in their own way like they already do with everything else (if im not wrong). Lunar has their own performance work built into the client that has nothing to do with Fabric mods. Adrenaline is just being used as a reference for what optimizations are worth doing, not as something to literally drop into the mod list.

# wet prawn 1. they cant just copy optimizations from many of the mods because of licenses 2...

Those are valid development challenges but they are internal problems for Lunar to figure out, not reasons to close the door on the suggestion entirely. Plenty of the mods in Adrenaline use open licenses like MIT so the license point does not apply across the board. And the compatibility issue is something Lunar already deals with regardless of whether this suggestion gets implemented or not, that is just part of maintaining a client.

Minecraft switching to Vulkan is actually the perfect time to bring this up because they are already rewriting a lot of code anyway. And the whole point of the suggestion is for Lunar to use Adrenaline as a reference for what optimizations matter, not to implement everything all at once right now. Plus rendering is not the only aspect you can optimize in Minecraft, there is game logic, memory usage and a lot more that have nothing to do with the rendering pipeline...
