Description:
The current user interface for both the Lunar Launcher and the in game client feels cluttered compared to competitors. and To improve user experience and accessibility, I suggest a UI renovation focused on simplicity, customization, and a more “breathable” design philosophy ig
Key Improvements:
- Setup Wizard
Upon first launch, allow users to choose between:
Minimalist Setup - Essential mods only, clean UI, reduced "visual noise"
Full Experience Setup - Default Lunar features enabled for maximum functionality
This makes onboarding smoother for new players while respecting experienced users who prefer simplicity
- Customizable Main Menu Background
Give players the option to:
Use the classic Minecraft panorama background
Keep the Lunar themed backgrounds
Select from other official presets
Many players appreciate nostalgia and familiarity, and this small change would go a long way in personalization
-
Community Panorama Workshop (Free)
Introduce a built in Panorama Workshop where the community can : -
Upload custom Minecraft panorama backgrounds
-
Browse, rate, and download other user's creations
-
Preview panoramas directly in the launcher before applying them
This could function similarly to a lightweight workshop system (fully free), with moderation and quality control. It would
Increase community engagement
Encourage creativity
Make Lunar feel more alive and "player driven"
You could also include:
Featured panoramas (staff picked or trending)
and finally Seasonal panorama events
-
Toggleable Branding
Add a setting to hide the Lunar Client watermark/logo located in the bottom right of the inventory screen for users who prefer a cleaner HUD -
UI Consolidation and Simplification
Streamline menus to reduce bloat and improve navigation clarity. Group similar features together and reduce unnecessary visual elements to improve usability for both new and returning players
