We need a feature to make friends that are added on lunar client be able to join the hosts world without the host being online, this is a good feature for friends to play on the world while for example the host is not able to play or join the world if the host is busy. If this feature does get added it would revolutionise how players enjoy the game instead of having to wait for the host to open the world and this can open it to many more possibilities instead of having to play for example on an Aternos server with high lag rate and low frame rate.

The way LW works isn’t any different than hosting your own server locally and portforwarding it to the internet for people to connect. LW just handles all of that for you.

So with this in mind there aren’t that many options without a compromise of some sorts:

  1. Host keeps his pc on 24/7 with LW open.
  2. Host runs his own server instance and has to keep the pc running 24/7
  3. Setup a different machine to host the server 24/7
  4. You pay a server host to run a server for you 24/7

So if lunar were to provide continuous world hosting, it wouldn’t be free without some sort of compromise. As they’d have to provide the infrastructure needed to handle that. It wouldn’t be too bad as a feature to l+ though.

Yea^

They might be able to make the world movable for example if the host isn't online someone else could host it

oh yea true ig that could work

#

maybe add support for custom server jar's then too like paper 😄

#

cuz that is a lot more optimized then vanilla

#

and u could add ur own plugins

#

Lunar+ would go kinda hard then tho 😭

They could do 2 things:

  1. Make the world easy to transfer(you can already do this by copying the file) so the online friend could host it. But it will require a way to send back the world after they are done so the progress will save. You can actually do it, but its not very convenient.

  2. The host will be able to host a server locally without opening lan(which you can also already do, but its not very convenient) which means that the world would run on the hosts pc as long he keeps it on and the host could disconnect without closing the world. It might not work though because you need to port forward in order to enable players to join.

These two options are already things you can do without lunar, but lunar could make it more convenient to actually use.
