A small Discord bot that checks for duplicate suggestions

It would be a nice feature for the devs if there was a discord bot that automatically checks for duplicate suggestions and notifies the OP of the suggestion before posting a suggestion

I don’t think this would be small because the duplicate suggestions will rarely have the same title and text even if they mean the same

So you’d need either an advanced text understanding algorithm or trust AI to understand suggestions well enough

They could see keywords between some suggestions and check if other suggestions have it. And if there is a suggestion that has similar or the same keywords, the bot would send a ephemeral Message showing that the suggestion is a duplicate one

That's the problem, NOBODY does that for some reason

You can see 5 DUPLICATE suggestions

Of the same thing

And they ALL DONT MAKE ANY SENSE

Idk how many, but let's say probably 30% of all suggestions are duplicates

Which is kinda alot

If you search "mobile" you will see 19 suggestions suggesting a mobile app that displays stats/friends

Good idea, however it might seme not so possible then u think it would be needed an ai what is trained for this since its hard to find duplicate suggestion if there is different context but same title 😉 I coded something like this once kinda

Creating a full ai algorithm is hard and not what I mean.

Soo its just smal time and effort

Integrating it into discord is still kinda hard

What I meant is a bot that upon creating a suggestion, it will try to see and match other keywords from other suggestions

And if it matches, it will just tell the OP that it's a duplicate suggestion and send them to the other duplicate

Conclusiones to it if a suggestion got same keywords and aren't the same it would cause leading suggestion to not being posted

What I MEANT is that it tells the person who suggested it that it's a duplicate, but NOT close the suggestion. If the suggestion is a duplicate then the person who suggested it will close the post

Even with a dupe bot, people will still not bother to use the search feature implemented in discord...
