#Raw Input for Linux.
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
it's already in lunar
does it not work for linux
it does not
and even on windows its dogsh*t compared to other clients. if you open up any menu, move the cursor, then close it, the aim will slightly snap to the direction you moved the mouse to - any fast gamemode is unplayable and be real - is there anything slow nowadays being played on these versions? these versions are still being played on because theyre awesome in fast gameplay. i have reported this to lunar like 2 years ago at this point and they just told me its a low priority issue
yeah
thats extremely easy to fix
Cosmetics more important 🥀💔
And i wont even talk about the fact most of the lunar staff doesnt even know what raw input does and they think its just "windows acceleration bypass"
tbf the support for lunar client on linux is really poor especially for distros like arch and fedora
its in lunar settings
WHO TF said its poor
if you mean community support i am here
i also use arch btw
you could just use AUR in arch to install lunar
yay -S lunar-client
no its not.
if you use arch then you'd know lunar doesnt offer raw input for linux
agreed
the package is outdated pretty often
Lunar Client's Raw Input is only for WINDOWS. The library they use only supports WINDOWS (as I mentioned in the suggestion)
find the raw input (99% of users fail!)
i don't use raw mouse input
its a package manager
Yes, doesn't mean it has proper support for example for nvidia support with newer gpus you have to edit the launcher arguments
ik i'm just kidding
People who dont care about raw input either use a $5 mouse or are clearly ignorant, this is a game changer on pre 1.14 i think? and it should be added/fixed on windows ASAP, but what can we expect from a client where 80% of staff doesnt know whats raw input and "why their game stutters so much when they aim"
....
I'm not new to arch, the issue isnt that I don't try to update
the arch package is sometimes nearly 24 hours (or even longer!) behind the actual launcher
I'm assuming it's managed unofficially because there is 0 reason for an officially managed package to be so far behind.
preach
facts 💀
its community managed iirc
lunar client manages their appimage on their website and thats it
the support thou for other distros is really poor like fedora or nix 😔
arch is lucky to get updates or be on the aur
wht do you expect from AUR
appimage is the only one official managed
then theres flatpak which they do say its an option but i don't think its the official one
for it to be updated??
ye but isn't it a community made
it is
no
oh
and this shows my point the official support for linux is very poor for lunar client especially if its community managed and not managed by Moonsworth themselves
Most of the 1.8 sweats use windows, if someone uses lunar on linux/macos just because its nice on newer versions then tbh... they should stop, everytime i wanted to play on a newer version with lunar i got less fps than on a normal fabric and well everytime there was an awesome mod which was incompatible with lunar. im somewhat happy i never bought any cosmetics on lunar
i am also a 1.8 main that yses linux
and i am bugged with a bug where i cannot press shift +2
also btw as a linux user i am saying it myself
the mc linux community is super small
so tbh could be the reason linux is ignored
lunar has so little Linux users because if you're using Linux you've probably realized that forge is better
I haven't faced any issues in lunars arch version and it gives me way more fps than forge
you don't have the right mods then
that's like saying vanilla gives more fps than sodium 🥀
dude for some lunar runs best and for some forge does
that's not how that works
tell how it works then : )
show wht mods you even us
use* also do you even have forge mods equivalent to cps fps etc of lunars
Performance mods:
- OptiFine by sp614x
- PolyPatcher by Polyfrost
- Entity Culling by tr7zw
HUD:
- EvergreenHUD by Polyfrost (cps, fps, coords, etc)
- VanillaHUD by Polyfrost (scoreboard, hotbar, etc)
- Chat by chromatic (chat)
- PolyCrosshair by Polyfrost (crosshair)
QOL / Util:
- Animatium Legacy by Legacy Visuals Project (1.7 animations) (pretty much required, I love 1.7 animations)
- Freelook by chromatic (freelook / perspective)
- RawInput by chromatic (raw mouse input) (linux support is being worked on 👀)
- GlintColorizer by Polyfrost (changes the colors of enchantment glint)
- CrashPatch by Polyfrost (stops the game from crashing)
all of them are available on modrinth with the exception of OptiFine which is only available on their own website
k will tell you my performance tommorow
Of course
Im still on windows as a main os however for me the forge gives the most fps in flat world/no players scenarios, and when there are a lot of players the blc is the best
arch, manjaro, zorin, ubuntu, mint
yeah ik
nice
sorry for that, i just didnt check this channel
its ok
tbh i have no hate for windows it just because i care performance more
and linux gives me that
for some obv windows might be better in performance and other stuff
the only reason why windows is trash is its current situation with bloatware adware etc, other than that its really awesome that current os can run really old apps
ye
yeah for some its better, for some its not, depends on your setup I guess
who tf wants recall
what mods do you use tho?
lunar?
what mods do you use tho?
cps and fps mostly
lunar is dogshit and doesnt have lwjgl3
you can use axolotl client which is an ornithe mod or badlion or wait for spice(lwjgl3 mod for forge)
i think badlion has lwjgl3 at least
they did say they will upgrade
btw rn lunar has badlion
this doesnt mean anything though
they are still completely different clients with different code
when they reach "feature parity" theyre just going to kill it off because it doesnt make them money even though lunar is just a worst product
ornithe isn't a fork of legacy fabric
could mean that it could help them upgrade
ye it would mean that as it might be expensive to handle 2 clients
it wont
nvm that would be dumb
they won't have any meaningful improvements from blc because lunar is already extremely unoptimized
blc's improvements on lunar would be like a bandaid over a missing limb
axolotl client isn't great but it's pretty good, I'd just recommend waiting for a bit
oneconfig's suite of mods will be ported to legacy fabric (and hopefully ornithe although it's not confirmed) which will make a way better experience than lunar client
mb i thought it was
I thought they were porting to ornithe instead of LF
unfortunately they don't know which to pick, I suggested both because it's not much more effort
Ornithe and LF are essentially the same thing no?
kinda?
they use different mappings which means their mods aren't compatible
and they have different "standard libraries"
but I think they're planning on using the same mappings in the future so that their mods work together
they both use fabric loader ofc, and ornithe has the optional choice of using quilt loader
so they're pretty similar with minor differences that cause them to not work with each other
Hopefully they support both when they release
mhm
doesn't x11 fix that
or xwayland although may not be stable
