i mean you can’t assume this kind of stuff, a new UI could mean a lot of things such as a rewrite, an experimental design to see if users interact more or fixing bugs which could’ve been present which weren’t known. Maybe this “new ui” was intended for a while but a bug kept it from changing

When the locker first came out, they were canarying it to a % of users to test it in action. So the crash you're talking about should already be patched, as the locker is on master now

On the other hand, display entities are broken as a whole, and in the case of Axiom, I haven't really used the mod myself so you might check if it's an issue with turbo entities or not. Most likely unrelated though

It's been fine for me on modern on a low-end device. About 1.8, badlion runs a bit more smooth than lunar does (for me. I've seen people saying it's the over way. Hardware-dependent most likely), which iirc in one of those blog posts about the future of badlion, those optimizations will be ported over at some point
I don't know about their plans and if there's a merge happening
