#Hacked Account Refunds and/or Transfers

I wanted to bring up a serious concern that I believe many users in this community quietly share but hasn’t been properly addressed. As someone who has invested real money into cosmetics on Lunar Client, I think it’s time the team considers adding a system to transfer or restore cosmetics for users who lose access to their accounts due to hacking or compromise.

These cosmetics aren’t cheap. They carry real value - not only financially, but as a part of our in-game identity. When an account is hacked, users currently have no option to get their purchased cosmetics back, despite being able to show valid proof of purchase. That’s frustrating and honestly feels unfair.

I get that account security is ultimately a user’s responsibility - but we’re talking about virtual cosmetics here. They can be easily revoked or reassigned if someone provides proper ownership verification. Refusing to help in these situations, even when clear evidence is provided, just makes it feel like the company prioritizes profit over people.

I’m not asking for free handouts - I’m suggesting a secure and verifiable recovery system for paying customers who get locked out of what they paid for. It’s not only reasonable, it’s just good customer support. Other platforms in gaming already do this.

i mean, how could “secure and verifiable recovery system” be done?

#

lunar isnt microsoft we cant just go to control panel and check your account info

#

and if you mean footage of you on your account

#

that can still be fakeable

#

also kinda off topic but, if you decide to buy a new account instead, why not just buy cosmetics too

#

if you think you have a lot valuable stuff in old account

#

then why dont you ask microsoft to give your account back?

#

shouldnt you suggest microsoft to get a secure and verifiable account recovery system?

#

imo lunar doesnt really have the responsibility to users microsoft accounts

this could be possible with the receipt of buying the cosmetics as proof

microsoft has one of the worst support team, they suspend all hacked accounts, they say that it is unrecoverable, they do not recover it.

As you said, users' accounts are users' responsibilities, and this could cause even more problems with fraudulent activities, as it is nearly impossible to check if a user's account is actually their's. I highly doubt this will ever become a thing.
