#Switch chunkloading from cpu to gpu.

Technically possible?
with good scrpting and gpu knowledge, it can be done. But its pretty hard
if lunar adds this it would break many fabric mods so it would be better if someone created a fabric mod for this or if this gets added to a fabric mod like sodium instead
since most ppl use a better gpu then cpu, it will still add a really big increase in fps. And make chunklloading more efficient
yeah but it would break compatibility with sodium and sodium is important
if sodium adds this then this wouldnt be an issue so you can suggest it on their github page
it would still give more then double fps then sodium for people with decent or high end gpus
i think you dont know how minecraft optimization actually works
kinda, I know the basics
since chunkloading is using the CPU you get better performance than you would get if the GPU had to render and load chunks
since everything else it put onto the cpu, which makes the cpu work harder, why not let the gpu help out more.
and this is not something lunar should add since this breaks mod compatibility
thats not true
GPU: rendering
CPU: chunk loading (and loading the world in singleplayer)
making the GPU do the chunkloading would reduce fps so this is a useless suggestion
not all types of rendering, for example entities
entities are rendered by the GPU wdym
you sure
I opened task manager, spawned 10k mobs, my gpu used 30% while my cpu was constantly at 100%
the CPU only renders something when you use software rendering which minecraft doesnt use and even if you use integrated graphics the GPU is still separate from the CPU
because the CPU loads the entities in the chunks and the GPU renders them
okay then, you win the debate. lol you got more knowledge
suggest this in the sodium discord instead because if lunar adds this it would break mod compatibility
or ask someone to create a mod for this
(fabric mod)
thats messing up most of integrated graphics
