Ive recently got a new monitor which is 2560x1440, and i have another monitor which is 1920x1080 which is set to my main display in windows settings. When I launch minecraft, it launches on my first monitor, but when i move it over to my second monitor, in mincecraft video settings 1920x1080 is the highest res. This is on 1.8.
On modern versions i am able to select 1440p but i cant fullscreen it without it being very buggy, such as it will fullscreen on both monitors and be scuffed. (the second image is across both monitors
I feel this feature would benefit loads of people who have this issue across two monitors with different resolutions

have you tried setting the resolution in the launcher to 1440p
thats not possible
the max is 1080p
?
you cant set it anything above 1080p
That setting is just for the windowed size, not fullscreen size.
You should be able to just change the Fullscreen Resolution option once it's on the 2nd display no?
you have to use the setting in the video settings
Nah on 1.8 it doesnt update, it always says 1920x1080 as highest
Yes i know I said "in Minecraft video settings" in my message, someone just mentioned the launcher option and I had to show them that it doesnt work
to fix the problem you mentioned at first disable fullscreen and enable it again then the option should update to show 1440p and i replied to the wrong message with my first message
No because on 1.8 if I put the game on fullscreen on my second monitor it automatically fullscreens on my first. I used to have two 1080p monitors so I would just press windows+shift+arrow key to move it but now its two different resolutions I can't do that anymore
well maybe thats caused by lunars borderless fullscreen
or windows idk
