Please add the optifine version to the latest versions, because now I have to use the simple minecraft client to have my optifine cape...

Choose following options:

Just use a Minecraft cape, they're better anyways
Use Lunar Client with Fabric Modloader (Enable the Fabric toggle in the version) and install the mod "Optifine Capes Reborn"

Instruction to install the mod:

Download the .jar file of "Optifine Capes Reborn" from Modrinth for the version you want to play
Click the puzzle icon on the left of the launcher
Select the version you want to play and click the Fabric icon at "Addons"
Click the cogs button left to the launch button
At the middle top there is a "Mods" button, click that
Drag 'n Drop the mod .jar into the launcher
Launch the game

You will prefer it that way anyway because OptiFine has poor performance on modern versions

Lunar Client bundles Sodium with Fabric and that works much much better than OptiFine
