When the lunar client is in the background {meaning its in its like "sleep" mode} it uses insane amounts of ram for no apparent reason. Compared to Discord, which i have open, Lunar Client Launcher uses 3 times as much as discord when Discord is open and the launcher closed.

Lower Ram usage in Launcher

For me it's the opposite, Discord uses around 1700-2000, and Lunar Client only 150-300. I think it could be the nature of electron applications, but I'm not 100% sure.

It basically means that it's just random who experiences an issue with it and not really something that's easy to fix.

and the code which makes that possible is using a lot of your system resources but that's out of the control of Lunar Client developers

#

The code they're using is a modified version of chrome which doesn't have all the features you normally see but has the same functionality allowing the developers to make a website act like an app you can run without opening your browser.

v8 engine is the name of Google's implementation of JavaScript, a commonly used web scripting language. Similar to Apple's WebKit.

Hello sir, If Lunar Client’s launcher is consuming too much RAM when idle, try these quick fixes:
1. Close the Launcher: After launching the game, fully close the launcher through Task Manager.
2. Lower Allocated RAM: Adjust Lunar settings to allocate 2-4GB of RAM (no more).
3. Reinstall Lunar: Corrupted files can cause excessive RAM usage; reinstall the client.
4. Report to Support: Persistent high RAM usage might indicate a memory leak. Report it to Lunar’s team.

This should help reduce background resource consumption.
