can i ask what benefit lunar radio provides as opposed to just having spotify open?

There's a few, to name some; responsive in game HUD mod that displays your current song along with keybinds to control the playback (pause, play, skip, etc.), specially curated stations to avoid copyright for streamers, the social aspect of seeing what your friends are listening to in your friend's list.
All in all if you'd prefer to just have spotify open in the background nobody's stopping you from doing that :)

i mean thats fair i guess
the streamer thing is good for some people and being able to control the playback might be nice
but im just wondering if that hud integration is worth sacrificing the ability to listen to any song

i tried out some other spotify minecrsft mods and some of them allowed you to pause and skip and go back snd stuff but you needed spotify premium so i dont think lunar can do any of that without you having spotify premium
