i feel like the lunar client devs should heavily focus on improving and optimizing the client, instead of adding new features, its a big missue at the moment and many people switch to other clients, such as badlion, due to better fps.
im posting this cause its a issue not only i notice, many people and youtubers are switching over to different clients cause of the fps loss. i feel like if developers put their time and effort into making those optimizations then it not only would benefit the player count, but also the feeling of smoothness, if i can call it like that.
#Improve Client Optimization / FPS

the lag spikes are more frequent, i have videos from january of me getting like 1000-1200fps and now its hard to get more than 800fps
i tought it was my video card, i tested many more other games, and noticed nun fps diff, its the same since january-february
we need more optimizations for the client, i like that client too much and spend some money on cosmetics, i refuse to switch, but if it keeps like that, i will need to switch it
yes u are right but the main fact is lunar client is only high end pc not low end users it has its modpack to boost fps but it improves a little bit so high end user plus mods increase the fps and they have optimization that also increases fps so its obvious low end user will get low fps but plus if they also use mods improves a little bit but they should at least see low end user they are alot people who have low end pcs
I know that the client is made for people with high-end computers, but the point is that my computer has 16GB RAM, GTX 1650 4VRAM and an i5-8400 2.4ghz, it's not a bad computer, it's not the best, but the point is It's just that I used to have so much fps, that now that it's dropped it's uncomfortable, I haven't changed my PC in a long time, it hasn't even been a year yet
Most people don't have the financial means to buy a latest generation computer, with an RTX and Ryzens
Like me, I live in Brazil, I use the client and I really like it, but everything here is triple the price of what it would be in the United States, for example.
Having an RTX here in Brazil is a huge achievement, and it is very exclusive for any player who goes through this
today while playing, my friend complained several times about lag spikes, and I was complaining that the fps was low
I reached a point where I had to use the graphics a little lower and an overlay for the sky, to make it smoother
There isn't much more they can do, most and the biggest fps performance mods are already added, and unless you are talking about motion blur, I dont understand what you are on about with smoothness, lunar is smooth
Devs are always working on optimization
do you realize that 800 fps is still more then sufficient?
You won't be experiencing any issues at 800 fps ?
realistically that high isn't even possible to display on any known Monitor. So majority of your FPS is restricted by your hardware and incapable of actually seeing a visual difference.
The Human Brain cannot even physically see 300 FPS speed.
I am not saying that Optimizations aren't a good path to take for the record, I am speaking strictly in your specific scenario, its really not necessary for you particularly.
Refresh rate is how often monitor can change image it’s displaying. Hz is a metric unit for frequency, measured in “times per second”. So 240Hz monitor us synonymous with 240FPS monitor.
Sending 300 FPS to 240Hz monitor will drop 60 frames every second as the monitor is not capable of changing image more frequently.
i be experiencing some lag spikes, frequently, and its 800 fps looking at the sky or void
normally i play at like 190 to 320 fps
i wouldnt know that if you didnt say
no problem, that would generally mean the lag spikes caused are generally due to another reasoning which could be multiple reasons.
but FPS isn't the cause in your particular case.
Servers often experience lag for multiple reasons.
Such as Chunk Rendering and Loading, or even Ping related issues for connection.
Due to the Location you mentioned, its extremely uncommon for a Server to be located in your region, which leads me to suggest the most likely cause would be a mixture of the 2 I mentioned, which would experience the feel of lag
which wouldn't be solved by a Client.
as for Private Solo Hosted Worlds, thats completely different story, that would be most likely Chunk Rendering as the primary cause, which there is methods to reduce this impact via specific mods, but aside from that, the game isn't well optimized overall.
