The Issue: Lunar has expensive cosmetics. They get loads of money too because of just how many people use Lunar and therefore see ads.

The Fix: Instead of making something that is digital and therefore worthless cost $30 you could make it use a currency that users can buy and also get for each ad they are served. I also think if somebody has lunar+ they could get a discount on items.

if cosmetics are worthless in your opinion then why do you want them?

Somebody in a thread got off track and mentioned the prices and I thought of this

Would this really matter if Lunar is profiting from the User doing this?
Personally I don't care, I keep cosmetics disabled because they don't fit the Minecraft theme in my opinion for the most part, but yeah I don't really see this being a viable argument to not support this for users when this still generates the required income rate that Lunar is setting the price to if they do something of this nature.

I'll be realistic though; Its actually disgusting how the cosmetics are priced in comparison to what they actually do, and sadly Lunar Client isn't the only doing this; other minecraft Launchers are doing similar horrible practices of this nature with over priced cosmetics.

And there is absolutely no way that the income made from Cosmetics goes 100% to development costs, because I can absolutely assure you it wouldn't cost this much to do that 😂 You'd be lucky to see less then 5% of the income related to Cosmetics going towards Development Costs.

# brazen tundra Youre assuming a lot of stuff

Overr 2 Million Users.
Lets make an very low estimate that Minimally only 5% of these players purchase Cosmetics.
Ad Revenue from the 2 Million Users.
Lunar+ which also lets make the assumption that atleast 1% of the Users purchase (which can say its more but lets keep it low for estimate purposes)

Lunar Plus Alone would generate $139,800 USD
but this isn't including a single Cosmetic Purchase or Ad Revenue.

Now I understand, Development Costs, Server Costs (due to how Hosting worlds work), and additionally a portion of Cosmetic Purchases (ideally should go to the people who made those cosmetics)

I can absolutely assure that is a MASSSIVEEEE profit margin.

You mean a currency like vbucks in fortnite, labycoins in labymod etc.? This is a great idea!
