The resolution setting in the launcher sets the window resolution on launch, which can be achieved from simply resizing the game window. It does NOT change your fullscreen reoslution

He’s right about the fps but not the resolution. Badlion’s optimizations for 1.8 are, from my experience, better than lunar’s, which is quite surprising considering lunar advertises itself as an fps boosting client.

This really depends. I've seen many comparisons and personally lunar performs much better for me that badlion does. One thing I've heard is they do some optimizations about entity/player rendering, which eventually leads to better performance in places like hypixel bedwars lobbies with a large amount of players, which has no impact on gameplay as the general performance should be similar

Also not to forget that this whole thing is also hardware dependant rather than just being configuration issues
