This would be kind of complicated to implement I'd imagine, but make it so fabric mods appear in lunar's mod menu, maybe in its own section (like the Hud, Server, and Mechanic tabs) and separate from the default lunar mods. Replay Mod's configuration menu from mod menu is already implemented into lunar's mod menu so I don't think it's too unreasonable to support other fabric mods too that have their own configuration menu in mod menu. This also allows for these mods to be enabled/disabled in specific profiles which would be REALLY convenient. Some people probably don't want this so maybe have a toggle to disable this or something.
#Add Fabric Mods to Lunar Mod Menu
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)

Also some mods could have first class support with an optimized config screen and their own lunar-esque icon like simple voice chat
(If this is already suggested too I'm sorry I don't really know how to search for a similar suggestion like this)
There is already fabric mods u just need to move them to different folders so that u can use them in lunar
I know, but that isn’t what this suggestion is about though
im pretty sure the most they could really do would be what Mod Menu did; showing the mods names and on click of the mods it would run the mod command in chat to open the gui or something like that
im pretty sure they need the mod owners’ permission to add mod settings into the actual lunar gui
I didn’t really think about this, but yeah they do probably need permission to put the mod in their gui. Although as you said they could just make it open the mod’s config screen exactly like mod menu does. I also suggested this as this could allow fabric mods to be changed based on your lunar profile, which I’m not entirely sure if the mod developers would allow or not I’m not sure.
This really doesn't require the author's permission as this just changes the way you can access the mod's config screen, so this is doable
are you suggesting something like modrinth or just to see mods you added
I’m suggesting adding fabric mods to the right shift mod menu lunar uses for all their own mods
that says like, nothing
other 3rd party mods that you haven't added or have added
they're suggesting what the modmenu mod does but instead it would do that internally in lunar's mod menu for the added mods, with the ability to access the mod's configuration menu, in lunar's ui style
wouldn't you have to hardcode it for every mod
Ones that you have installed, it’s just an alternative to the fabric mod menu but could allow the settings of a mod to be changed based on lunar profile
if you also modify the way the config screen looks like then probably yes, otherwise it's just modmenu
They could probably figure out a way to add them automatically
so literally just a button that runs a commadn
no, no they wouldn't, because it isn't possible
every mod has a different mod screen / way to set and read the values you input
some mods are entirely command based
correct
that's useless
Mods that use commands would be a bit hard/impossible to implement without hardcoding it, I was mainly referring to mods that have their own config screen in mod menu that would show up. Having their configs in lunar’s style might require hardcoding too so I’m just thinking that they lead to the mods config screen in mod menu, but their settings can be changed between different profiles
You would still have to hardcode every mod
Afaik, mod menu doesn’t hardcode every mod into it, so I don’t see why lunar would need to?
yeah I've no idea if it's actually worth the time to be implemented
I can probably do a concept of this (if this suggestion is still accessible in day)
because they use their own, custom-coded featurebase that everything uses, look up a bit about mods
Okay I see your point, I don’t know much about mods code-wise so from what you’ve said and a little thinking, this would require lunar to hardcode each mod
There’s probably some workaround lunar could do to make this suggestion work, but Im not knowledgeable enough to know if it exists
Was too busy yesterday so I did it today, here's my concept:
- New category by the name of Fabric (or Fabric Mods).
- Sub categories for All the fabric mods loaded, Internal (the ones lunar adds), and External (added by the user).
- Green border color for loaded mods, and red border color for mods that are having issues (This is different from a crash, similar thing also exists on ModMenu. The mod displays an error on ModMenu saying the config screen failed to load, but the game loads).
- Settings icon for mods that include a config menu, either built into them or if they cloth config. This would open the mod's config menu normally, without any changes to it.
- Hovering on mods should display all the information about the mod, including the version of it, and everything related that you could already see with ModMenu. (For mods with red border color, hovering on them will also display the error message)
So this is something like OneConfig?
yea i can’t see how this would be possible i’d suggest being able to add modmenu mod (not sure if you already can) and be able to see the button everywhere and this would fix all the problems
and there’s so many mods that are incompatible for like the stupidest reason which is the mod not being able to find itself to make a config and whatever else it is quite annoying implementing something like would also require fixing that
lunar should just add their own modmenu mod or ask modmenu to let them add it to all versions then problem solved
afaik “mod menu” mod is not compatible with lc rn
never used OneConfig but from what I can see, yes, you can say so
you can do that (the button is accessible on the main menu). This is also basically just mod menu in the style of lunar's UI, without the need of adding modmenu, as an internal feature
yea ig lunar can just partner with them or something and make a version of the mod that fits the lunar UI and also some small changes maybe but rn i don’t think mod menu is compatible with lc
do yk if it’s compatible?
Mod menu is compatible if you’re talking about the one for fabric
yeah it's currently being used on server modpacks
oh nice
i thought it used to be incompatible but i haven’t tested in a long time
