#💡 Community Support Changes

Now that the old community support channel is gone and is replaced by a forum channel, I'd like to bring this to attention. This is going to help with more direct and easier responses in community support.

⚠️Things that I believe are needed:

🔗 1. allow lunarclient dot dev URLs
🔗 2. allow lunarclient github URLs
🖼️ 3. allow image URLs for images sent in this server
(more explanation if needed: No need to reupload an image you'd like to show someone in community support that you have already sent before, in media or in another thread. and yes, this is possible. images that are uploaded to a channel will have a URL starting with the channel ID right after the attachments tag, and we'll need media and community support attachments whitelisted)

🙏 Things that would be appreciated:

check 1. add a Solved tag to automatically lock the thread when added by OP
(as well as a confirmation message to lock the thread they added the tag to, or otherwise the tag would be removed after a few seconds)
🔗 2. allow mclo dot gs URLs
(to see what's happening when there's a crash, you'll need the log. mclogs is a website that you paste your logs in, and you'll be given a URL to share it with. no need to download the log file anymore, you can preview it with the URL. and yes, "critical information e.g. IP addresses are automatically hidden"
🔗 3. allow modrinth URLs
(now that modloading is a thing, let us send modrinth URLs in community support)

🤔 Things that probably won't happen, but are possible:

🤖 1. allow public @full knoll commands only in community support
(this could definitely be moderated with some sort of cooldown for normal users)
text 2. discord helpers could be a thing now, just a discord role that you would assign to people that are considered active in #1215390637705396306 for people to rely on them.

Let me know what you guys think!

Forgot to add (because the original message met the character limit):
If "discord helper" ever becomes a thing, perks that would come with the role would be:

  1. permissions to modify the name and tags of threads in community support
(helps with searching them up in the future by other people)
  2. permissions to mark a thread as resolved and lock it.
    (even more organized community support)
  3. allow public lunar client bot commands specifically for people with the role, so you know it's never going to be spammed.

lunarclient.dev can be allowed but we prefer discussions relating apollo or server mappings be discussed in our dev discord
lunarclient github can be allowed but we prefer discussions relating apollo or server mappings be discussed in our dev discord
image urls will not happen because discord can't scan them and the embed may not show but the url will still be there

solved tag is there but currently only mods can add the tag
we don't want logs being sent in this discord, they can #📩︱create-ticket for that
probably won't allow modrinth links for now

won't allow commands to be publicly shown unfortunately
no need for discord helpers, if they're competent then they can apply to become chat mod #❓︱faq

Understood. The reason I wanted lunar github repos, as well as the dev website whitelisted, was due to simple cases in which people may ask for a documention for the api, a way to reach the dev server, and if they want their server displayed on discord rpc (which could be replied with the github repo url).
Image urls however, as I mentioned, could only be limited to the images sent in this server (so it's already moderated). Didn't understand the part where you said the embed may not be shown though.

I think that's all for this suggestion then, can be closed now. Thank you.
