Lunar has this feature allowing you to switch servers right away without leaving the server with the multiplayer button. The problem is smart disconnect doesn't do anything about this, so you can still disconnect mid game very easily. I suggest making smart disconnect work for the multiplayer button, or it could just remove it entirely.

I personally use this feature pretty frequently, as I can quickly check the player count. What id want that could also fix your problem is to add a GUI sizing mod, so you can change the size for each gui (menu, hotbar, inventory can all have different sizes). That way multiplayer button doesnt come in the middle when pressing escape.
