Original post:

ResolutionControl+ allows you to change your render resolution without affecting your fullscreen experience, allows for playing at lower resolutions while maintaing borderless windowed on Windows, and makes the game playable on Macs (retina display causes fps drops and lag due to high resolution). Also allows you to take higher resolution screenshots like optifine does on 1.8 (which is something I've been missing on lunar for a while now)

I disagree that this post is similar to https://discord.com/channels/555932873798975568/1168303961078509668 for the following reasons:

  1. The mod gives gives finer control over what resolution you would end up with. Sodium extras works by halving the resolution of the game. This option also just isn't available on Windows machines. I personally own 2 machines, a macbook and a low-end windows laptop. To make the game playable on windows I either decrease the resolution using minecraft's settings, or I use this mod. This mod is preferrable because it allows me to use borderless fullscreen and not have the weird glitchyness of switching resolutions every time I alt-tab.

  2. This mod allows for the upscaling of screenshots, which is something lunar does not offer by default on modern versions of minecraft.

TL;DR: Lemme adjust the resolution without messing with my OS's resolution

@tender sleet I apologise for the rather spammy nature and mean no disrespect by opening a second post. If you have any concerns or any more questions about the differences between posts please let me know, I'm sure I can more than convince you that this deserves it's own suggestion.

Your original post was suggesting a mod with the ability to

change render resolution without affecting your fullscreen experience

The post I linked was suggesting a feature to

Reduce Resolution ... as opposed to displaying it at the screen's full resolution

I'm not saying that the mod doesn't allow finer control, just that the feature set has been suggested before, and this doesn't seem substantively different.

As for custom resolution screenshots there are many suggestions for that such as "Screenshot Resolution Overrider"

I'll leave it up though as you put effort into redescribing it and followed the guidelines.
