#🖥 Ability to Change Graphics Performance

This option can be included through launcher settings. A short explanation for this can be laptops. Many laptops come with two graphics processing unit (GPU). One of them is called dedicated, and the other one is usually called integrated aka. iGPU.

The point is that, usually there's an issue that Lunar Client uses the iGPU by default, meaning if the user has an RTX3060 (as an example), they're about to get less than 100FPS because Lunar is not even using it.

To switch between GPUs, you should manually go to Windows graphics settings, add the javaw file, and manually set it to high performance to use your dedicated graphics. Another way is to add the game manually inside your GPUs control panel, which still takes time and may be confusing for some users. (As in their POV, Lunar client is just giving them lower FPS than they usually get in any other launcher and they're unaware of the actual issue).

With this being an option (preferably visible with advanced mode enabled), the user will be able to simply change the GPU being used by Lunar through the launcher, by the click of a button.

This is already a thing with Feather, but Lunar could do better. Lunar should add a Default option as well, which is chosen by default, so people will not run into other issues caused by adding this. Another idea is that Lunar should display what GPU will be used with any of the options High Performance and Power Savings by simply hovering on the option.

this is normally automatically done, if you have a gpu then every app will run on it instead of your igpu, and you can always change it in windows settings if not

The problem is usually with laptops. Lunar uses the igpu instead, but meanwhile vanilla minecraft (on the same version) automatically goes on high performance graphics. There are examples in community support that I can link to. And yes you're right, this is not a problem everyone has.

you can just change the priority of lunar in graphics settings or task manager

#

Lunar has a whole thing about it on their website

I've already explained that this could be done in several ways manually, but that's not with the click of a button, meaning that it would be confusing for some users as most of them are not aware what's causing this

That's not related to this. It's about the graphic processing unit, simply graphic card being used by the game

#

The processor will still do what it should

a cool thing that feather also has is to limit fps when out of focus to not drain performance
