Staff are not the people who decide what the cooldown should be, staff are here for moderation & support.

The cooldown isn't necessarily required, it's just kind of.. extra. I assume they want to take another step into preventing spam though as you the other person said it's easy to spam regardless

I don't think the cooldown needs to be removed, it's only a few seconds and doesn't restrict anyone. The main reason it's there is to stop spammers, which it does. If they make it any less then it would be easier to spam. If you really need to say something then say it in one whole message, or if you wanna add something then wait a few seconds.

My personal opinion is that the cooldown should not be removed because it avoids spammers and a messy chat. It’s easier to keep track of what’s going on whenever the chat is slowed.
