ive heard a lot of rants about people complaining how the launcher stays in the background even when you close it. this should not be a thing. period. the default should be that when you close it the application fully closes.

(also launch when computer starts should not be a preset)

Why are you arguing about one setting. Epic games does the same thing, steam, anticheats, etc. Just disable the setting yourself, lunar can do research on what people want/use and have decided on this as the default.

two reasons

1. now it says people are in the launcher and ill think theyre playing but theyre not its just hidden in the dock
2. because i think its a really stupid setting, and a lot of people are like super unaware that lunar is using their battery/ specs

also its a recent change so rolling it back would probably be easier to do now then later

2. If a person is worried about their specs/battery they would disable the setting themselves. Its also a very small impact.

if theres a reason to keep it im absolutely down to keep it

i just think if something has only drawbacks and no benefits theres no reason to keep it if you get what i mean

I'm sure you see it that way, but it increases launch time, allows for it to be minimised etc.

It’s a part of the friends system in the launcher. You get notified when your friends send you a message, and the launcher will do that when it’s in the background

tbh the default should be off and a popup should appear with that information, I don't think anything should not be killed when actually pressing the x button, when I say close it should close

difference is steam/epic games are hubs for different games and having it docked makes it more convenient to launch different games, you do not need lunar docked 24/7 when its only function is play minecraft

• steam and epic games have more function anyways so theres more of a point to have it docked

if you want a custom one you can use a custom rpc and put your own lunar icons and any text you want

doing Alt + F4 puts it in the dock the X button is the only way to fully close it really annoying tbh
