the reason i am suggesting this today is because this decision has clearly affected the server in multiple ways. lunar games are such a unique feature that keep a lot of new members chatting in the chat, hoping for a new game. when staff were able to start a game of their choice every 20 minutes, it brought a lot of activity and enjoyment to lunar. people tagged their friends which got them back onto the discord just to play the game, and from there, conversations were ignited. in a sense, the games are a catalyst to an abundance of conversations. now the rule is that staff can play a random game every hour. in all honesty, the chat has been not as active as it usually is. as an active member, i notice these things. if the rules were going to change, they shouldn’t have given staff permission to start games from the beginning. leveling through games shouldn’t be an issue; it already takes over a year just to get level 30 if you are active. and if boosters are a big worry, just decrease the chances of getting them. don’t take away such a powerful feature that makes this server a desirable place to be in.
EDIT: having such a conversation about my suggestion has sparked major activity in the general chat right now. just proof that games bring activity 😁
2nd EDIT: ben has looked into the math, and it is mathematically proven that there has been a reduced number of messages in the chat ever since the new cooldown rules were implemented
