If cosmetics are effect your preformacne this much then I think your device is too old for Minecraft. I have a really old device from 2014 that has 4GB and lunar client runs on 50fps I can't do much higher because the PC is too old for the newer versions. And cosmetics don't really effect it much. But if it does then disabling them would of fix the issue for you.
