Isn’t that just launching the client as admin
Nope
well also if it’s in there it probably has a purpose
That’s why we’re asking
No other “client” or mod loader needs this
@gloomy narwhal welcome to the thread too
(All people from the MC discord with the same question)
oh
do you read every clients license?
I say let it go and move on with life
Well I say we need answers lol?
It says every file on your hard drive
In a twisted way
plz show me 😞
Just reread it
It says it has access to every file on the drive Lunar is installed on
So if you installed it on your C drive it has access to your entire C drive
oh damn mb I can’t read

wait how recently did u check tthis?
Very recently
About a month and a half ago
i ran the insttaaller through wine and the license itt shows me doesnt mention hard drive rn
That's when that ss is from
and lunar also sends running processes list and hosts file to the websocket who tte client start... which is very privacy-intrusive
iirc, lunar can crash your game via the socket too
where’d you find this?
Iirc this is outdated, not sure when they will put in the latest one though
decompile and search string "windir"
Certified lunar client sketchy moment

Hey, the installer license was actually updated back in August of 2021. This screenshot is a few years old.
For context, Lunar Client originally existed as a Minecraft client-side anticheat, which required more access to your computer. Similar language was used in other modpacks with anticheats, such as Badlion when they had an anticheat. Now, no such anticheat component exists on Lunar Client.
The installer license should match what you see on https://lunarclient.com/terms. If you have any questions regarding these terms, or if what you're seeing does not match the site, please send an email to legal@moonsworth.com
