In vanilla Minecraft, when you turn on a custom sky, you need to turn off the "sky" option for the custom sky to fully appear, otherwise it will show the normal default sky in the void.
Lunar Client removed this last year which is a good thing as people won't be confused as to why their custom sky doesn't fully show.
However, for players who don't have good PC's and can't use custom skies, that "skybox" caused the sky to display a very cool deep blue look which makes up for the no custom sky.
With that being said, me and a lot of other people would love an option to add the skybox back, I know this seems like a dumb unnecessary addition but it will barely take any time or effort and satisfy a large number of players.
