this still would need lunar to let players connect through their proxies
or thats how featherclient does it
there are various programs and such that allows you to connect to each others lan from far away, but this does come with risks such as you leaking ur ip since u would need to share it to join each other
also hosting via a mod would most likely not happen since lunarclient is partnered with Bisecthosting

there is a way that requires hamachi as a proxy where you can open to lan and then let other people join but it would be nice if lunar has that feature built in
