Idk if this is possible but I think it would be very convenient if there was a menu of like 100s of texture packs that you could just choose from instead of having to download and all that stuff.

Seems like a cool idea. Most people wont use it tho since they have specific packs that they use or they just have custom made ones

I've seen a client or mod have a UI where you can just download texture packs, not sure what client/mod it was though.

There’s a big variety of texture packs from pvp texture packs to roleplay texture packs etc etc, so it’d be better if the user just downloads the texture pack they want themselves. It’d also take up unnecessary storage that may be necessary for some players

I think what they were trying to say was it was basically a texture pack browser with a 1 click “install” button which did the download for you and put it into the correct folder for you, sort of like how console editions of the game have a texture pack store. The texture packs wouldn’t need to be installed on each lunar client either, the browser download button could just be a portal to preview download them from a website like planetminecraft

It seems pretty unnecessary to me as it’s just one download and drag into folder. Adding this would just make it take a couple less seconds, and you can also select bigger margins of texture packs to download and drag bigger margins in so I don’t believe it’d be very effective.

I understand, would be nice QOL feature but effort:usefulness ratio for the engineers probably isn’t anywhere near high enough to make it viable, would be cool though

To make it easier when downloading texture packs, pin your resourcepacks folder to quick access, that way you can drag a texturepack from downloads straight to your folder without having to go through the lengthy process of typing %appdata% etc

if you mean similar to labymod then yes this would be quite cool, but it does come with downsides. For example lunar would have to have someone go through every texturepack they will have there to see if in appropriate or not

To add onto the initial suggestion:

A way for pack creators to upload their own packs at will

This will create an entirely different side of the lunar community if done right

^ agreed, for example id love to upload my own TP and would love to see some kind of open source texture pack where people in the community can work collaboratively on a pack together, currently there isnt really a way to do this besides the old fashioned way
