Not sure if this is the case for everyone but for me, sodium gives me much better performance, however, I think that no connected glass textures are a huge downside as having connected glass just makes things look better in general, maybe the ability to toggle it on or off could be helpful for those who dislike it. Dynamic lighting is also a very good feature in optifine and it is a shame that we cannot have it on sodium. I believe that adding these small features would have a good effect and there is no downside in having it

I mean you can use a texture pack to connect glass and other blocks
but it would be nice if that was possible
the only thing like that I have found is borderless glass but that makes glass completetly borderless
Something like this ?
yeah something like that would be great
ooooof i cant send the link
search for better connected glass
or just connected glass
is it a texture pack?
can you send it in dms?
and im guessing it works on sodium?
i searched for it and found on planet minecraft that it needs optifine
The problem is that things work differently on sodium and optifine, they’re essentially two very different optimisations of the game so have completely different code. It’s not as simple as just “make it optifine features work on sodium”, it would require the team behind sodium to do a A LOT of engineering, especially since optifine isn’t open source making which would only further complicate the issue. It might be possible for the guys behind sodium to work on their own version of things like connected textures, but that’s not their goal. Their goal is game performance optimisation, not so much visual improvement so in their eyes it probably isn’t worth the time or effort
Is a much more complicated issue than first appears, it’s essentially like saying “I like this feature from Game A (made by Company A), uhhh hey guys over at Company B, you should add this feature to your game B even though the team working on it and code are completely different and Company A doesn’t want anyone to know how to do it”
