#A Vent Channel

This idea is pretty out there considering I've been here for about two hours. I believe this could help some amount of people; a channel for people to let out all their frustrations at the world and talk about their anger in a community they feel more attatched to. this is pretty weird considering this is a Minecraft centralized discord though I feel someone, at least one person but hopefully a few, could benefit from an addition like this. perhaps the channel could only be accessed by people with a specific role obtainable through #old-roles in the event someone has Personal problems leading them to not want to access the channel.

I understand there are discords that are literally based on this idea, whole safe space discords, but some people may feel more comfortable or safe doing so somewhere in this community.

I think it is a pretty nice idea, but it would be hard to moderate

There are a few flaws to this suggestion that can turn this idea into something worse. Personal problems should always be dealt with via DMs with friends or family. Posting your frustrations to a Minecraft Client Discord server, wouldn't pose as a 'good look'. Another issue is moderation;

What would be classified as messages that would be "okay" to be left out or not? What would be triggering for other members of the community?

You could say that having an obtainable role through #old-roles would be an easy solution to this issues, but alongside moderation, comes with the issue of 'trolls' taking free-range of the channel and abusing it to the fullest extent.

Personally, I believe having a #vent channel on this server would create more toxicity and harassment to the user. Overall, it's better to talk to friends & family about your issues.

I like to start off with this: I appreciate the time you've taken to read my (& explain your own) thoughts. I agree on the trolling thing, realistically I hadn't quite thought of that and should've beforehand and I also agree with the idea that a vent channel would not really suit this discord professionally.

in regards to triggering topics, I would have suggested spoiler tags for each message involving the topic with a non-spoiler-tagged indicator of what the spoilers contained.

I agree, friends and family are usually the best place to go to, though some people are unable to do such a thing due to parents' personal beliefs or a struggle they may have regarding their parents that can't be addressed.

I completely understand your reasoning though and will remember to think more before making further suggestions.
