"Pit" will never be a tag, and the gameplay might be a genre in it of itself, but the name is not
one can't copyright gameplay either
so Geerzy can't sue someone for having people drop into the island from a weapon selection area above
he can only sue people for using the name "The Pit", and that's if his trademark actually ends up passing
well, technically you "can sue" for a lot of things but you would lose if the other person isn't doing anything wrong
