Yellow ππ horsi here again πβοΈ
So me have a hugeeee dilemma rn π§ so basically me wanted to get the new upcoming ultra 5 250k plus for my new pc π but me still dont know what cpu cooler to go with that could aesthetically match my already chosen rog b860-g and my steel b580 legend. π i REALLY like the Alseye Warriors W90 White cpu cooler, it took me two days to find it π but idk if it can handle the ultra 5 π For the case me already has the aero one pc case from aerocool, and me was also planning to get 8 rog eurux fans so i can maximize airflow specs as well
#CPU cooler dilemma
90 messages Β· Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Specs so far:
motherboard: asus rog b860-g
Gpu: b580 asrock steel legend
Case: aero one (standard)
Ram: samsung 32gb dual channel (two sticks)
Storage: 1tb samsung ssd, 9100 pro (gen 5)
My cpu of choice: ultra 5 250k plus
Targeted resolution: 4k with possible 1440p downscaling in demanding games (if any)
Additional information:
Pc primarily for "light" gaming and general productivity. Only heavy task is fl studio, and ai upscaling quality images for digital graphics/video editing. Me also don't generally multitask/keep apps open in the background, and do one task at the time
Anyone?
Twin tower air cooler should do just fine, but you could also do a 240mm or 360mm AIO
Peerless assassin 120 or something similar should be fine. I have a 285k on a peerless assassin and it does fine. Granted no gaming is done on it and itβs only business work done
@vital cypress me has problem
I am returning the axp120-x67 cause it interferes/overlaps with i/o shield, vrm heatsinks, and ram
Me wants aesthetics over anything cause it'd just do its job
But idk which one to choose
The w90 i wanted is maybe gonna overshadow the motherboard cause it sits taller from what i seen
So me now is thinking to either go with slim one tower
Or small, compact cooler (90-92mm) so me can keep motherboard rgb lighting free
Any ideas?
Iβve been looking at the wrong cpu power draw
Single tower I believe should be fine
Max 159
125 is the base
Yeh but me is looking for specific models
Idk which ones to choose
Whatβs your goal with the atheistics? Like what color do you want?
White/silver build π
My motherboard is white/silver heatsinks, my gpu same
Thermalright peerless assassin 120 mini and non mini should both work and come in white(twin tower option), Thermalright Burst Assassin 120 SE in white (single tower white option)
Me dont really like how it looks
Its a bit bulky
me wanted something slim, something that matches my motherboard
But me cant find anything π
Single towers are probably the most slim so you can see most of the motherboard, their are slim fans for tower coolers so atleast the fan isnβt as big. Low profile coolers will block most of the VRM bricks and could have clearance issues
Me think 92-95mm low profile should be clear tho π€
But me is also looking at master cooler engine-shaped cpu cooler rn too π
Is v8-v10 out yet, me can't find anything
V8 and V10 are both massive coolers, 92-95mm low profiles should work fine I believe. Noctua makes some nice ones (but expensive for LP coolers). Thermalright also makes good ones for a bit cheaper. Also if athetics of the motherboard matter so much, why not go for an AIO so you can see most if not all of the motherboard
Because
Liquid cooling is not "cooling"
It just moves the heat around
- they usually break within 3-5 years avg
And if sum spills, all my pc is fried
AND it loses up to 25% of liquid after one year only
It is cooling because its going through the radiator, AIOs cool better than air coolers on average, they just don't last as long but I can say atleast my corsair nautilus has a 6 year warranty. They also don't lose 25% of fluid within a year, On average they lose a few milliliters through evaporation. AIOs have gotten significantly better at preventing leaks and are extremely rare. However, I do understand if you don't wanna use one/change it out after like 5ish years. So the low profiles I mentioned earlier would be worth looking into and should give you want you want with aesthetics.
- The heat is just going around/being recycled
It doesn't get expelled right away like in the case of cpu cooler π¬οΈ
Until the radiator fans start running
- depends on size too!! π
- Me read 25-30% max, but apparently "it's only a few milliliters a year"
- Me was looking at asus rog strix lc II π it should come with 6 years warranty
- Me worried about leaks π what happens to other components, how can me know if pump isn't working anymore
Me tried to explore every possible option, and only 92-95mm low profile coolers can work with aesthetics, or aios
Me did a bit of research
Is aio on top better than on the front π
Cause of air bubbles or sum
Yeah, you want the pump to be the lowest point in the system, but the 92-95mm coolers would work if you donβt want an AIO
L9x65 by noctua or the Noctua NH-L12, or the AXP90-X53 by thermalright
So top?
It says the radiator will block the bubbles like this
Compared to if you place it at the front
Yeh top
Oke i think imma get radiator
Tomorrow me buy cpu + radiator combo π
What's the difference between asus prime and rog aios π§
Me wants to have x2 eurux fans on it
From what im seeing, the prime is slightly smaller in physical size and cheaper. The ROG is slightly bigger and usually has a bigger LCD screen on the pump itself which is most likely why it can cost so much more than the prime. In terms of quality both are effectively the same.
Me dont care about rog lcd or wtv
The "squared" shape cooler
Me want the round one , "strix" lc ii or sum
But me was wondering, if i buy asus prime , and i change the lcd to rog logo, and replace the stock fan with rog eurux, who's gonna notice the difference
Cause rog eurux is 120x122x30
Standard 120mm fan, is 120x120x25
So maybe it's too thick to stay π€ idk
It shouldnt be a problem, atleast I dont think
It says that it can be used for case fan, and for radiators
But me don't understand where the extra 2mm comes from
The holes are still in the same place, itβs just about 1mm larger on each side
It shouldnβt
@vital cypress what rog cooler to pick
My motherboard is m-atx
Me wants cooler with 0 overlap
Me basically has two choices, strix LC III 240mm, or ruyn sum , also III 240mm
According to ai, strix is the one to choose because the other one is slightly taller or something
Idk
Me is also looking on the website, but me cant find anything useful
Me confused
What i mean here is
The head of the pump shouldn't touch on hestsinks, ram slots, or the body just overlapping or sum
Rog strix lc III 240mm VS rog ryuo III 240mm
One has smooth argb, the other one has anime matrix design or sum
