Hey guys, I joined this server to gain some insight.
This is an entirely new PC build, here are the specs:
-Intel Arc B580
-Ryzen 5 5500 (no integrated graphics)
-16gb DDR4 Corsair 3200mhz
-Gigabyte A520I AC motherboard
-Crucial M.2 NVME 1TB
-Samsung 870 SSD 2TB
-Corsair CX450W power supply 80 Bronze rating
-Fresh Windows 11 install
Here's what I can rule out:
-ALL drivers for GPU, motherboard, and BIOS is latest version
-CSM disabled, all ASPM settings disabled in BIOS
-Resizable BAR set to AUTO in BIOS but Arc software says it is disabled!
-All windows settings have been gone through and entirely switched to performance enhancing options
-A whole lot of other stuff I probably can't remember at the moment
The symptoms:
-Poor performance from GPU, "3D" category is maxxed out when attempting to play a game, even on lowest settings.
-Games used for testing were Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5
-Not all VRAM is being utilized
-GPU frequency maxxed when running a game
-Can barely achieve 60FPS on low settings -Tons of lag, frame drops, and stuttering. CPU and RAM are not maxed out or bottlenecking in any way.
I really am not sure what to do or what the issue is. This is brand new parts and the install is a few hours old. The performance is horrific.
Is it possible that my old monitor and HDMI cord are incompatible with such new hardware/software? It is a 60HZ HDMI only 21" 1080p screen, very simple and low spec. If you want a screenshot, please specify what you want to see. Any help is appreciated! I will likely not be able to get my money back for this card as the 30 day window has passed.
