Directx is an API that is common on the Windows platform.
Some old games might be designed to run on old API such as DX9 / openGL so it will show you are using an old API. Many games might be designed to run on DirectX 11 even if your system supports DirectX 12. Make sure the games you are playing have the capability to use DirectX 12, as some might default to DirectX 11 to maintain compatibility and performance. Some games allow you to choose which version of DirectX to use within their graphics settings. Make sure you are selecting DirectX 12 if available.
To have the best performance, please make sure your Intel graphics drivers are up-to-date. Visit the Intel website or use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant or the manufacturer's (OEM) website to download and install the latest drivers.
I tried running a game and it didn't run because my directX version was 11
Why does that happen? I updated all of my drivers about an hour ago, also didn't work lol
I know my laptop isn't really built for gaming, but I think there's something wrong, 'cause it should at least work according to its specs
