idle temps are no use. need to check in game temps.

if there's no thermal throttle, check the core usage while playing games. Windows 10 is not suitable for intel's hybrid architecture. Windows 10 cannot fully support P/E core preference. i tested this for many times.

if game only uses E-cores, that explain many thing.

that's fine. ddr5 is only support gear 2 mode so it should be half of written clock speed

ddr4 works as 1:1 ratio, ddr5 is 1:2 ratio.

CPU throttling is very common in laptop but your level of performance drop is not an usual.

dunno HP's bios can disable E-core but

just give it a shot

if game your playing is not fully utilize hyperthreading technology, turning off E-cores could help. i've seen some cases.

this measure forces game to use performance core

but could be bad with other application
