Hi! I recently bought an arc a750 after swearing I'll get one a year ago and it's been smooth sailing so far. I plan on using my knowledge to help make arc the best it can be!
So every game has been working well except for 1 of the games I play, BeamNG.drive (to those unfamiliar, car physics sim game). The game runs on DX11 and has an experimental vulkan branch, no change in performance in either. I am getting 20-30fps on ultra preset at 1440p. To give an idea of how poorly this is running, my 3060ti runs at about 100fps, my 1050ti runs at 30fps. The gpu also reports about 50% usage but is running full boost (2800mhz) and 160-170w, vram is fulling like normal and same as my 3060ti. I've spoken to the devs of the game and they think it's a driver issue. It could be game, could be drivers, I just wanted to check both.

I am on the latest drivers (31.0101.3490) in the latest version of the game. I have ReBar enabled, CPU is Ryzen 7 3700x on Gigabyte X570 motherboard.

Do you have CSM disabled?

I believe so, I will check real quick but 95% sure I have it off.

#

Yes csm is disabled

Hmm. I’ll buy the game and test it out later

#

What driver are you on?

bleak wolf
#

latest 31.0101.3490

#

also you know that stream linus did with arc and a770? they tried the game and it also ran like hot garbage

#

so far on the forums for the game I have not seen any other reports of this but that could just be because not many people have arc yet

Try 3491 beta?

bleak wolf
#

how can I get on the beta versions?

#

found it, installing now

#

3491 beta actually did help, about 5 more FPS and things are feeling a bit smoother now
it's still 30-35fps so still bad but it's something

#

after a few minutes the performance actually went down to more like 25 for some reason

forest pecan
#

hmm

#

even in Vulkan?

bleak wolf
#

I'll try vulkan real quick

#

oh I'm getting like 40fps on vulkan, GPU is being properly utilized. Still way lower than the card should be getting but it's not bad

#

shame the vulkan branch is beta and has all sorts of other visual bugs but hey it works somewhat lol

#

have you tried using DXVK with DX11?

bleak wolf
#

I forgot that was a thing, I'll try that

#

that helped alot, now I'm getting 50-60 fps

#

a pretty unstable 50-60 but 50-60

#

also usage activity is 70-80% so it's not all the way (this game on any GPU unless you have a heavy CPU bottleneck or vram will run a gpu at 100% always)

#

looks like I new have a vram limit

#

probably oddity of the DXVK

#

The FPS is still a bit lower than the card should be capable of but it's good enough, definitely playable. I'll just keep this setup until drivers clean up a bit.
Thanks for your help!
