In my mother's smartphone settings, she has the scale for all of her things set to 200 percent, with text as big as it can possibly be. That's how Tavern Keeper's UI is. It's honestly one of the biggest issues I have with the game.
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE how everything looks, artistically. (Some things could stand out better, but that's another topic)
But I HATE opening up a tooltip or hovering over something - and no joke - the amount of game I'm able to see goes from 70 percent (the top and bottom portion of the UI take up about 30 percent of the screen real estate), to about 50 percent.
In a weird way, it's a compliment - because I adore looking at the little tavern keeper world, and I get irritated when the UI is so massively inflated that it covers up so much. Less is more. I don't know why the margins and padding on almost everything is set in such a way that you're trying to make your high school / college English paper seem longer.
I'll give an example.
Two screenshots - one is how a normal tooltip is, and one is how it could, in theory, be scaled down comfortably, without being overly obnoxious.
Still love the game - would recommend it to everyone I talk to - just one of those things where it's like, "Man, why do we waste so much screenspace on oversized UI? LET ME SEE THE GAAAAME!" ❤️
