I found an interesting strategy for doing this, and for those that want to try it. I'm going to be doing my regular lessons. Then, on the last day, go back and Legendary-fy all the lessons that are full.
Oh, I forgot to say.. I'm learning Japanese right now. It wasn't what I started off with. Being completely honest, I'm still struggling with some of these. 
Like, they have a regular "this/that" and then a fancier form of that.

I don't have super so it costs 100 gems every lesson I try to legendify so I'm limited, but I'm only like a unit or 2 behind in making everything legendary to where I'm actually learning at. Also I'm practicing so much Spanish that my Gboard on my phone is adding letters with accents on it now, and its making me search gifs and emotes in Spanish

its rare when i do a review unless i need extra hearts i use the practice to get more hearts option lmao but i find that in the practice mode it'll give you stuff you havent learned yet which is weird. otherwise i just keep going forward on the main timeline lol

Max I can get in a lesson with an XP boost is 80 xp
So even if he overtook me in that moment it would have only been by less than 80, which I easily could have passed in 3 mins

Generally people with super or the unlimited hearts trick. Or someone with lots of gems and a bunch of lessons they can make legendary with an XP boost. That's usually how I do it. This is a game with strategy
