In "Wie is de Mol?", a group of Dutch celebrities travels abroad to complete challenges and earn money for a shared pot. However, one of them is secretly the "Mol," whose goal is to sabotage the tasks to reduce the pot's earnings. The contestants must identify the Mol by answering questions about their identity after each episode. The person with the least correct answers leaves the game, with tiebreakers based on the time taken to complete the quiz. Contestants gather information to deduce the Mol's identity, sometimes intentionally acting suspicious to mislead others.

They can earn "jokers" to correct wrong quiz answers and "exemptions" to skip future rounds. These benefits are individual and not in the group's interest, as maximizing the pot is key. The introduction of the "black exemption" in 2014 allows canceling all jokers and exemptions.

The finale features three contestants, one of whom is the Mol. The participant who performs best on a final 40-question test about the Mol's identity wins the game and the accumulated pot.

Bridget Maasland, Gabriël Martina, Maaike Martens, Nora Akachar, Ray Klaassens, Roos Moggré, Sam Hagens, Sophie Frankenmolen, Stijn de Vries and Teun Luijkx are the candidates in the 25th season of Wie is de Mol? Presenter Rik van de Westelaken travels with them to Cambodia, a country full of ancient traditions and hidden stories. The blood-curdling search for the Mole starts right away in the capital Phnom Penh. Who can be trusted? And who is not? One thing is certain: this season begins with an unexpected twist that presents even the Mole with a gigantic challenge.

A traditional, Buddhist blessing at the beginning of the journey brings the candidates protection and luck for the adventure that awaits them. Something that not only the candidates, but also the Mole, may need more than ever this season... After the first days in Phnom Penh, the journey heads to Siem Reap, known for its picturesque pole villages and the world-famous temple complex Angkor Wat. In this breathtaking setting, the candidates go all out to earn money for the pot, while the Mole silently tries to thwart them.
