reduced performance on linux

[thorn sentinel]

before, on windows, i used to get around 220 fps on low graphics quality, and around 130 fps on high graphics quality

(fps decreases as game progresses, more stuff on the battlefield etc etcc)

other games i've tried work fine, with performance increase rather than decrease
