Seeing as its so common talking trash to one another isnt it a more fitting punishment to not be able to talk? They get lobby banned also, ie cannot play, why? Why not remove chat privilegies only? When they come back they still wont be able to be quiet so its more an issue of talking than anything.

Add an option to ban yourself from talking trash? I think most people already know if they cant keep quiet when angry so removing chat would help. Also seeing someone else talk trash makes you wanna talk trash back so being able to remove chat would be a great help?

It seems to be such a common offense than i think there needs to be a change.

Some of the chatting even if not directed to noobs also discourages people from keep playing just by listening to it, the chat is in your face so its difficult to dodge.

because text muting someone also has the side effect of preventing them from participating in lobby votes

also, the initial change to banning was made in a push to standardize punishments for breaking the rules

Introduce ping wheel in base game, allow it to be used even with mute

Requiring the chat to play is an issue. You should be able to fully communicate without it, as you say ping wheel is clever. Drawing works, ping labels (which also has a chat so this is somewhat an issue at least for noobs, usually used for complaints).
