There could also be a limit for very positive/negative rating, for example 1 per category. This would prevent people from giving everyone all negative and all positive. The important factor is also the fact that each rating is weighted by the chevron, and thus in the weighted mean, a better player's voice would be much more important than someone new to the game.

You need to think of OS in terms of balancing. If you lost because other team members brought you down then for your next match you don’t want those weak players in your team. Your OS lowers so there’s more chance a good player joins same team as you.

On the other hand, if i have a bad streak and lose a lot of matches due to bad teammates, i will be unable to join higher min OS lobbies, and thus be forced to play on noob lobbies.

#

I do get your point, but OS is still a measure of skill, and this interpretation comes more as 'bad luck strike'.

#

It not only makes your potential teammates better but also blocks you from matches with players who are good.

Just for context what is your OS? And is it possible to create lobbies yourself that are not noob but include your OS?

I think i have OS 8?

#

and most matches i have to play are noob lobbies; it also makes it often impossible to play with my friends, cause most medium level lobbies have min for 15

#

i have chevron 4, and it sometimes just comes out not fun when i have to play with my friends against newcomers. Especially when there is an open min 15 lobby

You can create your own lobby and set restrictions as you want. However no doubt things could be better like having a min chevron setting to allow people like you to play in a lobby that is not high OS and not noob.

I don't like this idea at all and more importantly it's not likely to help improve ratings and highly likely to make them less accurate. Do you know of any games that actually tried such a system and did they find it to be effective or ineffective at improving accuracy?
