It sounds like you installed to a location that you don't have user permissions to read/write, or some other local issue that might go away with a reset.

I've rebooted twice, hasn't changed anything. I can create and delete other folders in this location just fine. I can even rename the install folder. I just can't delete it. It doesn't give any kind of error message, it's simply that nothing happens. I've never had this kind of issue with any other folder I've created.
