#Detecting the cloaked unit that spotted a spybot

So I've been running my spybots into enemy cloaked units... And it feels really bad, like your opponent is cheating.

Eample: I have 2 spy bots moving towards the enemy and run into a cloaked thing and 1 randomly gets sniped by a pulsar (in 1 case it was a cloaked commander, another time it was a twilight). The surviving spybot sees...nothing, and this feels awful.

IMO, the twlight/commander should be decloaked when this happens so the player isn't left feeling cheated

But they do get decloaked when they get touched, by anything really, except walls.

They aren't is the issue

Spybots have larger detection radius because they can stun whole enemy army if they had to touch to be revealed
For 35s.

Hell, I'd be cool with a simple indicator that you ran into something. Running into nothing and dying just looks tough for new players

It has indicator, its just that units with smaller radius exist, ye

If u can afford spybots then u can afford junos to kill the jammers, so cloaked commander is not an issue.

#

The issue here is certainly the "Skill issue"

Idk, i can rush t2 and get a spybot out, but i don't have the eco to comfortably sustain a Juno at 7 minutes

If u are making spybots u should be at 1kE atleast

1 spybot early can get massive value if you are behind and getting pushed by vehicles

Hound ball vs 1 spybot and fat boy = pain

Platys still abusing emp bombers when kyouma isn't there to stop him

#

emp bots doesn't stun for 35 secs on units

This isn't meant to be about the utility of spybots or anything, I'm just saying getting your spybots randomly sniped and having 0 clue why leads to a bad experience for new players who may end up thinking theyre being cheated because they don't know why

#

Imo, such an experience should be avoided/minimized as much as possible without taking anything from gameplay whatsoever

is it any more or less confusing for a new player than getting the spybot targeted down while cloaked when the player doesn't know intrusion countermeasure systems exist?

one is more easily to conclude than the other. Also, you can scout and not see a tracer. I've run into this multiple times and had to check the replay to know what was up. It felt like someone was cheating, but after watching the replay I see a cloaked commander in 1 instance and a twilight another.

I am under the impression that games should be designed for players to easily understand what's going on instead of being left confused.
