Wouldn't what you're looking for be the "Override Mass" setting? 🤔

setting this to 0 makes from really sudden and disturbing results due to having no mass. not a huge problem, i am using a vehicle instead, but it seems like gravity setting should be in there

Gravity settings should be at the Scene (game/map) level. All this other stuff should be modifiers which effect that.
