Please, if anyone has any ideas or advice on how to implement snow, I would really appreciate it. I still can’t seem to get it working. I’ve tried pretty much everything, and I’m not even happy with the transition. The only thing that looked somewhat decent was using a brush to blur (blend) it.

Hi, please elaborate: you want to convert a saturation map to give a snowy effect on an image?

If you are trying to mask the snow layer so that it fades into the other one, you can use a layer mask: Ctrl+click its thumbnail in the layers panel, then click on the add layer mask icon that looks like this: [o]
This way you created a mask that matches the layer. A mask is the greyscale representation of a selection, where Dark tones hides, light reveals.

Alt+click the mask to target it.

You can now select the edges, and blur them, or even use a gradient on the mask, (blend modes are your friend if you want two crossing gradients) or paint in black with a very soft brush to draw a gradual transition.
