Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here. I’m trying to find a YouTube speedpaint/timelapse I first saw around 2015–2016 (original upload likely 2013).

Video Details:

Shows Miley Cyrus transformed into a ball-jointed doll (BJD).

Only Miley is transformed.

Background song: “Wrecking Ball” sped up, F minor, with reverb.

Likely made with Photoshop CS5, edited in Camtasia 4 or Sony Vegas Pro 12.

Duration: ~2–3 minutes (sped up).

Scene: cream-colored dollhouse, roses, black cage, mirror, Gothic Lolita decorations.

Thumbnail: white background, red/blue rectangles, white text (“Miley Cyrus Photoshop BJD”).

Creator wrote in English; may have done similar edits (e.g., Ariana Grande).

Recreation:
I made a reconstruction of the image (Ibis Paint X) and audio (CapCut).

Audio recreation: https://voca.ro/your_audio_link

Request for Help:
If anyone remembers this speedpaint or knows the artist, please let me know! Any clue is appreciated.

Hi! Have you tried searching on deviant art, art station, even tumblr?

Robot, cyborg? Do you have the video? No metadata?

Hi! Thanks for your reply.
No, it wasn’t a robot or cyborg. The video was a Photoshop CS5 speedpaint/timelapse where Miley Cyrus was transformed into a ball-jointed doll (BJD). I don’t have the original video or metadata, but I made a recreation from memory:

It was from around 2013–2015, and she was the only person transformed into a doll. If anyone recognizes it or knows the artist, any clue would be amazing!

I guess they take down the original image but I’m clueless, it does not ring a bell at all. Was the technique very different than other tuts on the topic?

Hi! Yes, the technique was quite unique.
At the beginning of the video, the artist was browsing Google Images for ball-jointed doll (BJD) references, before making a smooth transition into Photoshop CS5 with Miley’s photo.
They started by removing the gray brick background and the chain behind her.

Then, the artist made Miley’s skin paler and added blush on the cheeks, nose, ears, shoulders, elbows, and fingers.
They painted realistic joints on the neck, arms, elbows, torso, and wrists, and made the eyelashes longer and the eyes lighter.
They even replaced Miley’s mouth with a glossy doll-like mouth, which might be why I didn’t recognize her right away when I first saw the thumbnail back then.
The hair was also a bit longer, painted softly with a brush.
The final result looked like a semi-realistic resin ball-jointed doll — both lifelike and doll-like at the same time.

The video itself was a timelapse / speedpaint, about 2 to 3 minutes long, with soft background music.
The whole atmosphere felt dreamlike and surreal — that’s the feeling I had when I first saw it.

At the end, the artist placed Miley in a cream or off-white dollhouse-like room, with a black cage, roses, and Gothic-style decorations filling the background.
They added a slight Gaussian blur effect, if I remember correctly.
The black cage was in the center, and it appeared larger than Miley, creating a strange but beautiful composition.

Ahem, I’m lost. If you know the technique, why do you need it?

Oh, sorry if that was confusing!
I already know roughly how the technique works — I described it based on what I remember from watching the video years ago.
I’m just trying to find that specific speedpaint/timelapse video again, because it seems to have completely disappeared from YouTube.
It’s not about learning the process, but about finding the original artist or video.

The video wasn’t a tutorial, just a speedpaint/timelapse.

I guess that there was a takedown notice.

I’m not sure if it was really taken down, but maybe. I just remember it disappeared completely, and I never found it again, not even with the same keywords.

Hi! If you or anyone else on the server happens to know this video or has saved it, could you let me know? I’d really appreciate any help!
