The way they are a bit wonly, I think they are simply drawn with a hard brush, small size, typically 2 or 3 pixels (or even the pencil tool that is even harder than a brush)
The way to accurately create straight lines, is to hold SHIFT while you drag the mouse/pen. That way you can't get wobbly lines.
You can see there are several colours here, which one to choose will depend on the light direction. In here, they decided that the light comes from the right.

I sense some bits have been sharpened as well, hence it gives the artificial feel. THat's just ideas though, they could have used Illustrator for all I know, and used the pen tool with a stroke.
