If I open ANY file either with the default open or open as option, my Photoshop crashes. If I open as a smart object and either convert to layers (psd) or rasterize it works fine and is essentially the same thing as opening as far as I can tell but with extra steps. rx 6700 xt + i5 14600k if that helps

Hi, 1) which version is it? Is it a legit one?
2 )did you try to reset Photoshop’s preferences manually by dragging the preferences folder to the desktop. This way you can copy them back if it does not work: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually
3)did you try the cc cleaner tool?
